Homemade Chinese Spring Rolls: Crispy and Fresh

Chinese spring rolls are a popular dish enjoyed by many around the world. While you can easily buy them at restaurants or supermarkets, nothing beats the taste of homemade spring rolls. They are not only delicious but also fun to make. In this article, we will guide you through the process of making your own crispy and fresh Chinese spring rolls.

Ingredients:

  • Spring roll wrappers
  • 1 cup of shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup of shredded carrots
  • 1 cup of bean sprouts
  • 1 cup of chopped mushrooms
  • 1 cup of chopped cooked shrimp or chicken
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the shredded cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms, cooked shrimp or chicken, and minced garlic.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Pour this mixture over the vegetable and meat mixture, and toss until well combined.
  3. Take a spring roll wrapper and place it on a flat surface. Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling onto the bottom third of the wrapper. Fold the bottom edge over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll up tightly.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Fry the spring rolls in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the spring rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve the spring rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce with a dash of vinegar.

Enjoy your homemade Chinese spring rolls that are crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside. They make a great appetizer or meal for any occasion.
