General Tso’s Chicken: Crispy and Tangy Recipe

General Tso’s Chicken is a popular Chinese dish known for its crispy texture and tangy flavor. With this simple recipe, you can recreate this delicious dish at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip them in beaten eggs.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, then remove them from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate saucepan, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
