Classic Black Pepper Beef: Spicy and Savory

Black pepper beef is a classic Chinese dish that is loved by many for its bold flavors and spicy kick. The combination of tender beef strips, fresh vegetables, and a savory black pepper sauce makes this dish a favorite among food enthusiasts.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.
  2. In a wok or large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Add beef slices and cook until browned. Remove beef from the wok and set aside.
  4. In the same wok, add more oil if needed and stir-fry onion and bell pepper until slightly softened.
  5. Return the beef to the wok and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir well to combine.
  6. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.
